Wir sind geijnnert, wi dein libe wol vernomen hab, wi sich etliche herren zu Behmen mit andern Rittern knechten vnd auch wost gemeinen lewten eines newen gelauben angenomen haben, vnd wider seczen sich do mit wider got, die heilige kirchen, cristenlichen glauben vnd memlich vns als iren rechten naturlichen erbherrn vnd auch alle ordenung czu seczen. Noble and gracious prince. We have in mind, as probably your grace already has knowledge, the fact that the Bohemian lords together with other knights and vassals along with the common people have adopted a new faith in opposition to God, the holy church, the Christian faith and are opposed to us, as their legitimate and hereditary lord, and to our authority. We have attempted to set them straight again with much effort and with considerable and gracious eagerness but thus far it has, regrettably, done little good. Instead they have become more obstinate and more wicked in their beliefs. Presently we ourselves, together with many princes, knights and vassals, and other pious people, intend to proceed to Kutná Hora to lead a campaign against these same Wyclifites in hopes of suppressing and exterminating them with the help of God. This affair concerns our faith, the whole of Christendom as well as your grace. Additionally, if these people are not subdued in a timely fashion they could easily rise up greater in the land. Therefore we earnestly and urgently desire that your grace would assist us, the holy church and all of Christendom, as soon as possible with your power in dealing with the aforementioned disobedient and contrary Wyclifites so that we might exterminate and eliminate this heresy so that other lands likewise would not be deceived and poisoned by them. For your support and gracious favour you shall merit divine reward and the praise of the holy church and all Christendom.
