Předem vám nabízím své služby, jak jich čas vyžaduje a jak vám bude milo; přitom toužím a usiluji o spásu vašich duší. Milovaní přátelé! Jak jste oznámili ve svých listech, které jste mi poslali po svých vyslancích, žádáte, aby vaše zboží nebylo popleněno vojsky tak, jako jsou pleněny jiné krajiny, a aby se stalo toto: aby totiž byl uzavřen mír mezi vámi a našimi vojsky; a proto se dobrovolně nabízíte, že dáte našim vojskům jistou částku peněz. Vězte tedy, že jsem již předložil k uvážení vaši žádost a nabídku vojskům, to jest Táborům a Sirotkům, i pánům šlechticům, Pražanům, rytířům a ozbrojencům, kteří jsou z království Českého. A vůle zmíněných vojsk i pánů se vám oznamuje tímto dopisem: Žádají na vás, abyste se nejprve vrátili k pravdám evangelia, pro kteréžto pravdy vedou až do dneška každodenní boj. Jestliže to přijmete, hned přestanou všechna plenění a jistě na vás nebudou svévolně vynucovat žádné peníze; neboť spíše vás chtějí hájit před těmi, kdož vás napadají, než vás válečným způsobem plenit. Nerozhodnete-li se však přistoupit k evangelickým pravdám pro něž bojují naše vojska, ale budete-li chtít o tom nějaký čas rozvažovat, buďte ubezpečeni, že vůle zmíněných vojsk a všech pánů, kteří jsou z království Českého, jest tato: chcete-li zachovati statky i těla, máte jim poskytnout jistou částku peněz jako zálohu a podporu za jejich namáhání. Zmíněná naše vojska si tedy žádají, aby jim město Bamberk se všemi svými pevnostmi a obcemi, vesnicemi a tak dále, stejně město Schelislitz a zároveň město Hollfeld daly padesát tisíc zlatých rýnských. A budete-li tak chtít učinit, abyste potvrdili důstojnými ručiteli a svými listy, že jim dáte polovinu v hotových penězích a že dáte brzy i druhou polovinu. A když toto vykonáte, zůstanou všechny vaše statky v klidu a bezpečí věrně podle ujednání zmíněných vojsk. Priest Prokop, the military captain of the field armies of Tábor to the famous lords Swirpold of Brandenstein, Johannes Kastner of Weismain and to the mayors of the communities of Bamberg, Scheßlitz and Hollfeld. The offer of my services as time permits and as you desire. I desire and wish for the salvation of your souls.

Dear friends! As you have given notice through your letters which were sent to me by your messengers, you ask that your estates not be plundered by the armies in the way in which other regions have been plundered, and that a peace might be entered into between you and our forces. Therefore, you offer yourself

voluntarily to give a certain amount of money to our armies. I wish to advise you that I have already communicated your proposal and offer to the armies, namely the Táborites and Orphans, for consideration, and also to the lords and barons, Praguers, knights and warriors who belong to the Kingdom of Bohemia. The will of the aforementioned armies and lords is that you be notified by letter. They ask first, that you return to the truth of the gospel. For these truths they have been leading a daily struggle up until the present time. If you agree to this, then the plunders will cease immediately and they will under no circumstances extort money from you. They would rather defend you from those who would assault you than plunder you in the manner of war.

However, if you do not decide to agree to the truths of the gospel for which our forces contend, but should you wish to think it over for some time, may you be assured that the will of the aforementioned armies and all of the lords who are of the Kingdom of Bohemia is this: if you desire to save your lives and your goods you are to provide them with a certain amount of money such as an advancement or subsidy for their labours.

Thus, our aforementioned forces require that the town of Bamberg, with all of its garrisons and communities, villages and so on, as well as the town of Scheßlitz and herewith the town of Hollfeld, give them 50,000 Rhine guilders. Should you agree to do this, you should confirm this through worthy guarantors and letters that you will give them half of the amount in cash now and the second half soon. When you do this, all of your assets will remain safe and secure in accordance with the arrangement with the aforementioned armies. Do not neglect, either by night or day, to reply according to your common and united will. Given on Thursday, the day of the purification of the Virgin Mary.
